How books from the ‘Living library’ were read in Lviv

19 November 2014

Within the Xth Travelling Docudays UA there was a ‘living library’ at the National memorial museum ‘the Lontsky Street Prison’. As books acted people with own life-stories – an ATO soldier; volunteers who collect funds for the army needs; a forced migrant; a human rights activist; a social worker, etc. Thus readers of the library learned more about their activity.

There were also specialized books on history and also about the museum  ‘the Lontsky Street Prison’.

The readers were festival and museum visitors and these were mainly pupils, teachers, students, etc. The questions raised at ‘the living library’  were on human dignity, equality, democracy, unanimous actions to protect human rights and certain rights and freedoms. Future and past events were discussed, however, the hottest were the questions of the present: peace, war, employment, survival, economical growth and decline.
